In the big empty swathes of space, a crew looks to their doctor for medical treatment, care, and assurances. A doctor works from the medical bay to save lives during ship battle, exploration, or during inevitable spacing accidents.

As a character advances in the Doctor Job, he or she gains the following Skill points at each Rank.

Each Job provides a series of Talents representing the special abilities granted by this specific training. As a Character progresses through Job Ranks, more and more Talents become available.
Medical Staff3 weeks Cooldown
Automatically passes a failed Doctor test in any situation, including deep space travel, orbital ops or exploring or during a mission
Treat Wounded6 weeks Cooldown
Heals 3 crew, or up to (Medical Rating x 3) on ships with advanced medical facilities. Each patient gains 20 + Doctor Skill in HP
Field Surgery10 Initiative
In crew combat, Removes all Debuffs; Heals (20 + 0 Doctor) HP
Assisted Care3 weeks Cooldown
Reduces the price for medical care at the Doctor by 10% + Doctor Skill
Life Saver9 weeks Cooldown
Saves a life during ship combat, blockade, spying, patrol, salvage or black market. Crew member is restored to HP equal to Doctor Skill + 3 x Medical Rating of onboard medical components
Medical Ward6 weeks Cooldown
Upon defeating an enemy ship, heal 3 crew, or up to (Medical Rating x 3) on ships with advanced medical facilities. Each patient gains 10 + Doctor Skill in HP
Healer's Intuition9 weeks Cooldown
When crew are paid, your constant and close observation of crew's health grants a 30% + Doctor Skill chance to learn hidden Trait from among those paid
Generous in Service13 weeks Cooldown
If ship's Medical Rating exceeds zone's Economy Rating, free medical care to citizenry gains Rep up to Medical Rating but max 10 with diminishing returns above 40 Rep
Voice of Reason26 weeks Cooldown
A ship's crew loves a good doctor, and a calm voice of reason can calm angry minds. The mutiny ends and Morale of entire crew is increased by 10 + Doctor skill
Solace in Battle6 weeks Cooldown
Purges your Ship of both Crew and Ship Crippling Effects, Restores Doctor Skill worth of Morale to 20 Crew
Combat Talent Strategy[edit | edit source]
Field Surgery[edit | edit source]
The doctor has only this sole talent to assist with in Crew Combat. It is overall weaker than the options the Combat Medic has but does do more healing than a Cleansing Purge, the comparable 10 initiative talent, at the cost of no morale restoration. It is typically used as an emergency backup if your Combat Medic has died or is critically injured from a previous battle. A hybrid Combat Medic and Doctor officer might choose and use this talent for a cheaper but weaker Lifeline with no buff.
