Your saved games are stored locally on your computer at a location outside of your Steam install folder. You can see the standard paths below. The location of the saved games does mean that you can uninstall STF without losing any saved games. These are also the folders that you could Add to Dropbox to do your own cloud save until that feature becomes available.

If you are backing up or moving saved games you must move / backup the entire folder.
Windows:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\StarTradersFrontiers
AppData is usually a hidden folder.
Mac:
~/Library/StarTradersFrontiers/
Linux:
~/.config/startraders2/
iOS:
Available via iTunes to download, under "FileSharing"
Android:
Only available if you've rooted your device. /data/data/com.tresebrothers.games.startraders2/files/
