A bounty hunter is skilled at tracking, capturing or killing fugitives. Crew Combat Talent Strategy[ | ]
Steadfast Aim[ | ]
This powerful buffing attack will only grant the bonuses if you are able to connect with your attack. If you do connect, you will be set up for very powerful attacks afterward. This is a highly recommended talent for Bounty Hunters planning on using their rifle attacks.
Lethal Trap[ | ]
This is a debuff alternative to Steadfast Aim. If you are working with a Pinning strategy, this could be handy but otherwise it tends to pale in comparison to the suite of buffs that Steadfast Aim offers. Of course, if you have both talents, the combination could be useful.
Hunter's Challenge[ | ]
This talent finds use with support-based Bounty Hunters that are split with other jobs such as Combat Medic. It has a moderate initiative cost which makes it useful mostly as a fall-back talent after you've already applied all of the buffs and healing you can and need something to do with your action. It can be useful in forcing a position 2 swordsman to fall out of range by moving the position 3 foe forward.
Unfaltering Ire[ | ]
This is the must-get talent. A moderate initiative cost for a guaranteed debuff on two targets is huge. The debuff makes serious threats into something the rest of your team can take their time to deal with. It is a hard-counter to foes that rely on buffs as well. This is an excellent choice for any crew combat member with enough ranks in Bounty Hunter to learn it.
Sustained Fire[ | ]
This talent really softens up a target for further attacks and thus makes more sense against foes with high penetration and hit points. However, its utility is lessened if you're using high initiative weapons such as HMGs.
Resolute Hound[ | ]
This is a good go-to defensive talent if you need a bit of healing and aren't in the front-position (which, as a bounty hunter, you shouldn't be in anyway.) It is generally weaker than a heal from a combat medic, but the armor buff can grant a lot of survivability, especially if your foes have already been hit by Unfaltering Ire.
Frag Grenade[ | ]
These grenades soften up targets heavily, if they hit. They're the offensive counterpart to unfaltering ire, in a way. They'll require you to have your bounty hunter in position 2, or even more awkwardly, position 1 though. Dropping deflection and armor so much leaves them very vulnerable to pistoleers in particular that frequently have little penetration.
Shredding Shots[ | ]
This is a decent damage over time talent with a deflection debuff that softens up the foe for further damage. However, given the other debuffing options the bounty hunter has, it generally isn't the fastest way to take down a foe. Unlike the similar talent Sustained Fire, this is useable from position 2, making it a better companion to a Bounty Hunter relying primarily on Frag Grenades. Unfortunately, it can only target the middle two positions.
